Our Community Network
Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre works collaboratively with a
diverse range of organisations, either formally or informally





South West Interagency
Community Agencies Network meetings are held
every six weeks and are hosted by the Centre Co-ordinator
Guest speakers are accessed to share information and
education with approximately sixty other agencies
All agencies, including churches and schools, have opportunities to
share the latest information from their organisations
These meetings enhance opportunities for
referrals, advocacy
and networking



Multicultural Development Association Inc. (MDA)

Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre has formal contracts with MDA
as a host for the Multucultural Community Jobs Plan
Work placement is specifically designed to assist unemployed migrant and
refugee job seekers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
These opportunities are "win win" situations for both the job seeker and
the Neighbourhood Centre

Community Centre and
Family Support Network Assoc Qld (CCFSNAQ)

This network is designed to share information with Co-ordinators,
Community Development Workers and Family Support Workers on
new developments, policies and standards from the Department of
Communities. Lobbying is also done through this network

South Queensland Council for Homeless Persons
(SQCHP)

This network of SAAP housing services assists workers
in advocating and referring

Skills Development Network

The Co-Ordinator of Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre is a
representative for Brisbane accessing the training needs of the sector
