Our Services

Community Support and Development

Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre Inc was established in 1979 by a group of local residents who volunteered their time to provide parenting support and a place to gather.  This tradition of volunteering continues today with our volunteers making up 80% of the Sherwood Neighbourhood Centre team.  Our community services program includes linking people to formal and informal support, creating and fostering opportunities for social connections and inclusion and empowering the community to develop local solutions that create positive futures.  We do this through a range of activities, programs, projects and events held over the year and through a long history of building strong community partnerships.  In the event of a natural disaster we work with other key community stakeholders to activate a disaster response plan to support community recovery.
